Tip #1 Drink More Water:
I understand that this has been suggested countless times by others but it needs to be mentioned again because water is truly nature’s miracle weight loss solution. Here’s why. Most people are chronically dehydrated due to drinking excessive amounts of soda, coffee, or alcohol. What happens to the body when this is the situation is it goes on survival mode and retains all the water it can. The body doesn’t require a lot of body to live but it needs water for survival so if it’s not getting enough it gets stored away. I have had clients release up to 30 pounds simply by eliminating soda and drinking more water. When the body knows it is getting its required amount of water each day, it will release the retained fluids in the body because it is no longer necessary. As you increase your water intake, you may have the need to use the bathroom more for a short time while the body adjusts however every time you use the bathroom you will be eliminating more and more retained fluids and fat cells from the body. After a short period of time you will notice the water has helped you reduce your weight, took inches of your waist, and your clothes will fit better.
Tip #2 Create a Designated Eating Area:
If you are having a challenge with snacking during the day or in the evenings there is an easy fix. Instead of trying to restrict yourself of foods or snacks, which only creates a stronger desire for the foods, give yourself permission to eat what you desire with one rule. The rule is you must eat at a designated eating area with no distractions like tv, a book, computer, or any other distraction. By designating an eating area like your kitchen table or break room at work will dramatically cut calories, reduce your food bill, and assist you in reducing your weight. The reason this is an important thing to do is because we consume so many mindlessly calories eating in front of the TV, at the computer, while cooking, or doing other tasks. We eat without thinking and by the time we realize it the entire bag of chips is devoured. This unconscious behavior is not done out of hunger but out of an emotional attachment to food. This is why we can eat so much in front of the tv but never feel full. Eating or snacking can’t resolve any emotion we experience it will only put more weight on our bodies. To eliminate this unconscious behavior, allow yourself permission to eat what you like at your designated eating area and get rid of the distractions. Be fully present with the food and focus your attention on eating. You will quickly discover that the bag of chips loses its appeal fast if we can’t snack away mindlessly in front of the tv or computer.
Tip #3 Do Self-Hypnosis
In order to make long term changes in your weight and health then it is very important to condition your mind for success. When you talk with people who were successful at releasing weight and kept it off, they will tell you that they needed to change their relationship with food and what food meant to them. Self-hypnosis is a powerful and effective way to recondition the mind to have a healthy perception of food, to create behaviors that support your healthy lifestyle, and increase your self-esteem. The easiest way to practice self-hypnosis is by taking a few minutes to relax yourself and then deliver positive, uplifting suggestions to your mind. The most ideal time for this is first thing in the morning and while laying in bed before falling asleep. These are the best times to practice self-hypnosis because our brainwaves during these times are naturally in the self-hypnotic state and the subconscious mind has increased receptivity to suggestions. So before you get out of bed in the morning or before drifting to sleep, take a few moments to close your eyes and give yourself positive suggestions that support your goals and intentions. You can give yourself a variety of suggestions or simply repeat the same one a minimum of ten times just like a mantra. Here are a few examples of positive suggestions for weight reduction:
I eat less and feel fuller
